In this section, we hear from Rob Bell about the work of the London Retired Police Dog Trust and the Police give as you earn scheme for LRPD. We also look at how the course is taken. We also look at what is pet first aid?

In this section, we first look at the internal and external anatomy of a dog so that we can understand more about their body. We then look at the pet first aid kit and some of the contents as well as using a muzzle. Then we learn more about checking your dogs health and what the vets role is in an emergency. Finally, we discuss transporting your dog safely.

In this section, we look at choking and the best treatment for a dog with an airway obstruction. Then we look at CPR, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and what you need to do to try and resuscitate a dog. Then we look at drowning and how you can save your dog's life if it drowns.

In this section, we look at treating different types of bleed. These can be from smaller cuts or impaled objects to serious bleeding from different things from knife wounds to gunshot wounds. We also look at tourniquets and haemostatic agents to control catastrophic bleeds. Finally, we look at shock and how this can be a life-threatening condition to animals.

In this section, we look at bandages and dressings. There are many ways of applying a bandage and we look at some of the options you have to control bleeding before you can get the animal to the vet.

Dogs can be hurt in many different ways and these can be minor to life-threatening conditions. In this section, we l cover different injuries that animals may get from fractures or burns to spinal injury or eye problems.

An illness is defined as an unhealthy condition of the body. There are many different illnesses that can affect dogs and in this section, we will look at a few of these.
